On Yahoo Sports Radio’s “Nate & The Noise”, host Nate Lundy and guest host Brad Evans talk with long-time Indianapolis Colts’ beat reporter Bob Kravitz about both the new contract and the health of star quarterback Andrew Luck, Indy’s offensive line, and how the Colts look headed into training camp.
“They did a smart thing and drafted Ryan Kelly, the center from Alabama in the first round,” Kravitz said. “Jim Irsay believes he can be a worthy successor to Jeff Saturday, that he’s going to be snapping the ball to Andrew for the next 10 years.”
The trio also discussed the role running back Frank Gore will play this season. Kravitz suggested that rookie Josh Ferguson becoming a fixture in the running back rotation.
“The way they talk about Josh Ferguson, you would think he’s Walter Payton,” Kravitz said. “They love what they have seen so far.”
The Colts open the season at home against the Detroit Lions on Sept. 11 and take on the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field in week two Sept. 18.
