Host Shawn Drotar (SB Nation Radio, Mile High Sports Radio) is joined by Mile High Sports’ Ronnie Kohrt, as the Rockies wrap up a 10-game homestand that saw them retain their hold on first place in the NL West. Now, the team goes on the road for 10 more — can the Rockies’ veteran pitchers keep up with the rookies? Will the offense travel if they can’t?
Tyler Chatwood and Tyler Anderson were expected to be stalwarts in the Rockies’ rotation — instead, they’ve been liabilities. Rookies Antonio Senzatela — who’s six wins has him tied for the lead in all of Major League Baseball — Kyle Freeland, and German Marquez have been keeping the rotation afloat in the meantime.
As for the bats, Carlos Gonzalez’s seems to finally be heating up, and it’s looking like the Rockies will need it against the first-place Twins and surprising Reds.
