Broncos fans wanted some “juice.” John Elway bought the whole orchard.

Yesterday, just days after the conclusion of the NFL Draft, Elway signed four time Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles to a one-year, $3.75 million incentive laced contract to become the newest member of what is suddenly a very intriguing Broncos backfield.

On this episode of the Broncos Blitz, 5280 Sport’s Network’s Jake Marsing and Ryan Greene discuss why the Charles signing isn’t quite as sexy as it may look on the surface.

Then, the guys look back on the NFL Draft. The Broncos were able to grab eight players, all of whom have a chance to contribute for this team. However, Jake and Ryan don’t think every pick was a slam dunk, especially on day three. Quarterback Chad Kelly and tight end Jake Butt both have massive question marks surrounding them. Will either ever be a real impact player for the Broncos?

Finally, Jake and Ryan hear from outside linebacker Shane Ray speak about the evolution of star pass rusher Von Miller as a leader in the Broncos locker room. With DeMarcus Ware gone, Miller has a chance to cement himself as the greatest Bronco ever, both on and off the field.

The Broncos Blitz comes to you from the Sportique Studio every week during the offseason and from the parking lot of the Broncos’ UC Health Training Center headquarters daily during the season. It brings you all the news and analysis you could ever want out of a Broncos podcast.
