BUFFTALK: QB Steven Montez addresses media for first time in Fall Camp

Entering his third full year with the program, RS-SO QB Steven Montez is finally ready to take the reins.

After sitting behind Colorado’s All-Time leading passer for two years, it is now Montez’s time to shine.

He played in 10 games along with the Alamo Bowl, including three starts (Oregon, Oregon State, USC; he was 2-1 as the starter). Montez threw for 1,017 yards with nine touchdowns against four interceptions and completed 60.3 percent of his passes (79-of-131) during his redshirt freshmen year.

The young QB has slimmed down is now listed at 6’5”, 225lbs. Athlon Sports ranked him as the 42nd best quarterback entering the season.
